Commerce Department’s Free business tax Preparation Program

In January, Philadelphia businesses can access free tax preparation services. Due to the $100,000 BIRT exemption going away, we anticipate that more entrepreneurs will need support to file their taxes for the first time. Trash Pickup Details

Trash and recycling collections are on a holiday schedule. Set materials out one day AFTER your regular day (Thursday, January 2nd, 2025 below Tasker or Friday January 3rd above Tasker). For holiday weeks in 2x pickup zones like ours, the weekend pickup is skipped.

Immigration Resources from PR&LA

Here are some resources which may be helpful for any business that faces concerns with immigration enforcement:

• The National Restaurant Association and the Restaurant Law Center have prepared a quick memo for operators

• The American Hotel and Lodging Association provided this flyer titled 5 steps for employers regarding immigration enforcement. I have also heard the Commerce Dept is working with the Office of Immigration Affairs to develop a resource guide specifically for small businesses. I’ll keep you all posted.
